PERSONAL BIO
It was back in the late 90s when I accidentally landed my first website role as a customer service assistant for a chemical information website. Here I discovered my passion for anything web-related and how to provide a good customer service. Things were a little different back then. There were no smart phones, tablets or super-fast broadband and Google was a misspelling of a googol. With a love of learning for the latest design trends, technologies and best practice in creating websites I never looked back.
After gaining years of experience working with websites for a range of organisations including RBS, The Scottish Parliament, The NHS and University of Oxford I headed up a team at a local, web design agency in Oxfordshire. After supporting independent, local businesses with their online presence I took the natural next step of setting up my own web design business.
COMPANY BIO
Miller Web Design creates professional, bespoke websites to support small, independent businesses across Oxfordshire and the UK. Each custom-built website is designed to engage your business’s visitors and convert them into customers. Whether it’s a one-page website or a large e-commerce store, I can help. For busy business owners that don’t have the time to manage and update their website I also offer hosting, maintenance and content update services.
When working with my clients I use a collaborative approach to fully understand their requirements so I can deliver a website that will meet their business goals, whether their objective is to increase product sales, enquiries or general awareness of their services. Every project is approached with attention to detail and determination to support their business needs.
Did you know your website carries a carbon footprint?
It’s estimated that 4% of global CO2 emissions are now generated from the digital technology industry, that’s more than the whole of the airline industry put together. Websites themselves generate small levels of CO2, every time a page is loaded. With over 2 billion websites this soon adds up.
My websites are eco-friendly and hosted with a green hosting provider. Sustainable web design techniques are applied to reduce the environmental impact of your website, creating a better user experience and faster processing of your webpages. These best practices go hand in hand with good usability, accessibility and SEO to help your website rank higher in search engines.
I am delighted to be working with sustainable businesses across the UK in supporting them with their mission towards net zero.
